When groups of people/languages/stories are omitted from books, we are taught that these people/languages/stories don't exist and aren't as important as those that are displayed.
Losika Writes aims to change this, one book at a time.
Everyone's story and language deserves to be heard Everyone should be able to find themselves in a book
So spend that time reading with them and to them... Buckle up for the ride through all the universe and the many stories that lie within the pages of a book. Happy reading with @losikawrites
A candle loses nothing by lighting anotherΒ -James Keller- I had a beautiful autumn day meeting and mingling with many awesome chocolate people at @africaday_australia youth event. Public speaking is a craft I am trying to hone π and I think I went well today ππ€π½. I learned a lot from everyone who was there and it's amazing what we can create by working collaboratively with our fellow chocolate people. As the African proverb goes, "one head does not contain all the wisdom"π€― and I am thankful that people were willing to share their collective wisdom. Until next time... ππ
Afternoons with Richelle Hunt of ABC radio Melbourne have occasionally had the African flavour of Losika Writes as I discuss all things diversity, motherhood, bilingual childrens books etc.
